So while this will go down as a brave performance by Moana, they still did lose by 17 to a poor Crusaders team. There is plenty to build on for their next match, in Apia against the Reds.

The Crusaders were just very disjointed, similar to their effort against the Drua. But unlike that day they managed to nail down a couple of key areas, specifically the scrum.
Tamaiti Williams and Joe Moody produced some crucial penalties that turned the game in their favour.
Fergus Burke had a very solid game at fullback, moving him to that position has been a success by Scott Robertson. Macca Springer was very good too, setting up Dom Gardiner and Dallas McLeod's tries.

MP certainly came in with the right attitude, and played easily their best game of the season. Their plan was pretty simple: get the ball in Levi Aumua's hands often and it worked, with the big centre scoring two tries.
Timoci Tavatavanawai was outstanding, coming in off his wing to make some devastating breaks and was probably the best player on the park tonight.

A gallant effort by Moana Pasifika but while they didn't score in the second half they certainly didn't fade away like they have in other games this year.
The Crusaders will certainly be thankful they got a couple of good bounces of the ball, and a dominant scrum.

MP got desperate and the game really broke open, Crusaders took advantage and a brilliant offload by Melani Nanai saw McLeod into a gap, he fed Heinz who scored next to the posts.
